What Customers Say About Uniden 300-Channel Clock Radio Scanner:

I would suggest asking a local law enforcement officer if they use a 10-code system and look on the internet for the breakdown of those codes. We had the weather radio on last night during a severe thunder storm and heard a tornado was spotted less than 6 miles from us.

We also own a restaurant with delivery and thought it might help us avoid traffic jams for our delivery drivers. I bought this for Christmas as a present for my wife, we live in a very rural area and thought this would be great to keep tabs on the emergencies in the area.

We live in a hollow in a very rural area and have no problem with reception. It has done both. Some of the reviews have concerns with the ease of programing, pretty simple and straight forward.if you can work basic electronics you should have no problem using this scanner.very imformative and eye opening if you have never used one.

All sorts of things going on around you that you are probably not aware of. Very useful indeed.

Also check out this website for all of your local emergency frequencies.[.].

Returning it as the headphone output is very bad, otherwise very nice model. Sad I can't use it.

I've noticed no bleedover from the WX channels. The only negative I can think of is the lack of a sleep function, which would have been intuitive given it does have an alarm function. Other than that, the scanner is quality. Like other reviewers, I found it a bit difficult to get the hang of programming the channels, but did eventually figure it out, with the help of the manual. I really like being able to categorize signal types (air, fire, police, CB, etc) by number and then select which ones I want to scan for at any given time.

This scanner was way too complicated to run. Never did receive anything off of it except weather updates. Uniden Support was not very helpful either.

It is not bad, but there must be a bit better. I actually get very good reception. My biggest gripe is you can not see the display unless you are right on top of the unit. There was no trouble setting it up. There is only one alarm so be forewarned that this may not replace your clock radio. Still I like it.
